Master of Arts in Educational Technology

Welcome to my Annotated Transcript Page!

Below you will find a summary of graduate courses I completed at MSU during the MAET program.

Fall 2014-2015

For the entirety of a year, I worked on completing my internship at Ferndale High School in Ferndale, Michigan.  I worked closely with a mentor teacher who coached me on becoming a better teacher. On Fridays, I worked on completing four courses: TE 801 Professional Roles and Teaching Practice I,  TE802 Reflecting and Inquiring Teaching Practice II, TE803 Professional Roles and Teaching Practice II , and TE804 Reflecting and Inquiring Teaching Practice II. During this time, I learned how to build ethical relationships amongst my teaching community and how to handle responsibilities in a school environment and community. I also practiced applying research and inquiry, creating lesson plans, and taking on the lead teacher role.

Summer 2018

Over the duration of 6 week, I completed three courses in the MAET program: CEP 810 Understanding with Technology, CEP 811 Adapting Innovative Teaching to Education, and CEP 812 Applying Education Technology to Practice. A key focus was on using the TPACK framework in the classroom- how to incorporate technology into a classroom environment that is appropriate towards one's content and context while also having a strong pedagogical approach. Secondly, I put time into repurposing a tool for the Maker Movement. We applied a similar approach to repurposing our classroom tools with inquiry based learning project.  Finally, a major component of these classes was focused on researching a problem we were experiencing in our class or school.

Instructors: Missy Cosby and Kyle Shack

Summer 2019

In Galway, Ireland I studied for 4 weeks the following courses: CEP 800 Psychology of Learning in School and Other Settings, CEP 815 Technology and Leadership, and CEP 822 Approaches to Educational Research. A major focus was on the ethical and social implications of technology along with researched based learning by breaking down and analyzing data. As a cohort, we created three professional developments off of those topics to facilitate to our peers in year 1, year 2, and the professors. We also created two podcasts that focused on ethical and social implications of technology, which required us to research more on the topics.

Instructors: Dr. Liz Owens Boltz and Sean Sweeney

Fall 2019

During the final course of the MAET program, students were given the autonomy to design their teaching portfolio in a way that best interested us. Each week we had a specific focus to help us get to our end goal of our completed portfolio.  We were instructed to submit a video each week describing what our design process and thought process consisted of and what would we like feedback on. Our peers and instructors gave weekly feedback to help us enhance our portfolio.
