About Me
Welcome to my about me page!
Here you will learn more about my professional and personal life
I was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. I have always had a passion to be a teacher since the earliest age I can remember. I decided to pursue my goal of becoming an educator in 2008 when I began studying education courses and English courses at Michigan State University. After my graduation in 2013, I completed an internship at Ferndale High School in Ferndale, Michigan.

Following the completion of my internship, I moved to Houston, Texas to teach 11th grade English. I was given the opportunity to mentor a group of 9th grade girls three times a day, and I was fortunate enough to stay with them for four years. I had the honor of handing them their high school diploma on stage in June 2019.

This past spring I decided it was time to move back to Michigan so I could be closer to family. I accepted a teaching position at University Prep Art and Design School in Detroit where I am once again the 11th grade English teacher. I am very happy to be in close proximity to everyone important to me.

What Inspires Me?
Besides teaching, my passion lies with traveling. I made it a goal to visit thirty countries before the age of thirty and over the summer I was able to accomplish that goal. I wanted to experience as much of the world as possible so I could bring back my knowledge to my students and help them empower others.Â
Traveling is like nothing I have ever experienced before. It frees my mind from things I cannot control and opens my mind to a variety of new cultures. I try my hardest to embrace change and bring unique experiences back to my classroom so I can help inspire young minds to become the best people they can be!
